Creating never before seen projects that combine light and porcelain for everyone to discover and share our connected reality towards nature.
L’atelier de l’Aube is the latest venture from the award-winning artists Marie Drolet and Oleksandr Polishchuk. A first-of-its-kind, this Canadian-Ukrainian duo is creating never before seen projects that combine light and porcelain for everyone to discover and share our connected reality towards nature.
As Russia declared war on Ukraine in February 2022, Marie Drolet contacted Oleksandr Polishchuk, a ceramist and colleague from Kyiv. She invited him to Canada to share her workspace in Wakefield, Quebec. He agreed, arrived, and they soon began to explore a true collaboration. What started in the ashes of war, germinated and grew into L'atelier de l'Aube. This is a project that combines illumination with delicate porcelain. They believe that “Earth’s peace will be found in the power of light.”
Proudly based in the Outaouais, close to Wakefield, Quebec, launching L’atelier de L’Aube is a continuation of Marie and Oleksandr’s desire to find meaning in life through art. Working in porcelain and light is still a unique process in Canada. They want to bring this type of technical mastery to others to build connections and community across the world.
Marie explains, “We are a space of experiential exchange. We connect creativity and spirituality with innovation and technical knowledge. We work collaboratively with clients and artists from all origins to produce original and large-scale works that are filled with a long-lasting wonder.”
This is a new adventure and L’atelier de l’Aube wants you to join them in creativity. With several fresh collections completed, L’atelier de l’Aube is open to further collaboration.
Marie is excited that L’atelier de l’Aube is ready to hear from collaborators, stating “Do you have ideas that include integrating ceramics with other mediums like glass, wood, or metal? We are working on bespoke commissions, public art projects, and creating new designs for corporate spaces.”
