Enjoy a week of rejuvenation in the Wakefield glorious countryside to explore different ceramic techniques and deepen your artistic voice. It's a perfect time to slow down and to learn in a community setting that will transform your creation, propelling you to the next stage of your development. This course is designed for students with previous ceramics experience.

Duration: July 13-17, 2026 (5 days)

9am-4pm

This inspiring week will be led primarily by Marie Drolet, owner of Muraï Céramique and L'atelier de l'Aube. With 25 years; experience in the art world, Marie will guide you in exploring your artistic voice, and help you clarify what aspects of creation uniquely and personally resonate with you. She will also demonstrate advanced wheel techniques, such as throwing large pieces, pieces with lids, high-speed throwing, and more.

Throughout the week, Marie will be joined by three guest artists.
Erin Robertson will demonstrate animal sculpture. This hands-on ceramic workshop explores animals as expressive sculptural hand-built forms. The process invites reflection on animals as symbolic figures within environmental narratives.

Kathrin Von Dehn will demonstrate the creation of various cup shapes through hand-building, with an emphasis on decorative techniques. In her work, she uses different materials, such as colored engobes, underglazes, and glazes, to create illustrations and patterns on her pieces.

Véronique Caron-Bossé will give two demonstrations for altering wheel-thrown pieces, one for a bowl and the other for a plate. During these demonstrations, we will discuss cutting and assembly, issues of balance and fluidity, as well as the different stages of clay, firing, and glazing.

Each day, blocks of time will be dedicated to working on your personal projects inspired by the demonstrations and discussions.

All materials are included in the price. Bring your favorite tools, a bottle of water and your lunch.
